Piraeus to Koufonissia ferry
Piraeus–Koufonissia links Athens with the best-known island pair in the Small Cyclades between Naxos
and Amorgos. Blue Star Ferries currently lists up to three routes each week and a journey from about
8 hours 25 minutes. Departures are shown from Piraeus Gates E6 and E7, with the live booking result

The route normally uses a conventional passenger-and-vehicle ferry, so it works for both foot
passengers and travellers taking a car. At 8 hours 25 minutes or more, the crossing is long enough
to compare reserved seating and cabin options on the assigned ship. Individual departures can call
at several islands, which is why the final itinerary and arrival time shown in the booking should
take priority over the published minimum journey time.
Passenger ferries arrive at Pano Koufonissi beside Chora, the main settlement and centre of visitor
services. Current Blue Star information connects Koufonissia with Iraklia, Amorgos, Naxos, Paros and
Schinoussa. The island is compact enough for much local travel on foot or by bicycle, while seasonal
boats help reach beaches and Kato Koufonissi, but ferry-to-ferry connections still need careful
timetable checking.
